A DROITWICH company cannot wait to get back to the Middle East following a very successful trade visit which secured it an order worth £18,500.

Nexus DMS, of Lovett Road, Hampton Lovett, makes electronically powered care beds which lift, lower and profile-adjust for the users' backs and legs.

At the start of the year, the company attended Arab Health, in the United Arab Emirates, the largest healthcare exhibition in the Middle East, with half the costs met by Passport to Export (P2E), which is a flagship scheme specifically for new exporters.

Nexus shipped its first order of beds, worth £18,500, to a retail distributor from Dubai a few months later.

The firm, which joined the UK Trade & Investment P2E programme in 2004, has had a package of support, including a free export health check, export workshops, help with an international trade strategy, matched funding to implement it, training, mentoring and membership of Mid-lands World Trade Forum.

The company plans to return to Arab Health during 2006 to further explore this lucrative market.
