DIGBY Fairweather has been referred to as "one of the best ambassadors jazz could have." His activities in British jazz span 30 years and have consistently garnered praise.

He has become one of Britain's best-known jazz musicians, working principally in Dixieland-mainstream surroundings, and playing - during the course of his 25 year professional career - with all the most eminent British exponents in that style.

Digby first formed a band called Dig's Half Dozen back in 1971, and despite changing line-ups and musical directions, he is still working with a version of the original band today.

Fresh from the Starbucks Birmingham International Jazz Festival where they won Best Small Group at the Marston's Pedigree British Jazz Awards 2005, Digby Fairweather's Half Dozenare at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Friday, January 13 at 8pm.
