WHITE Hall Fabrics has come a long way since its launch two years ago, after partners Coralie and Jamie Rogers identified a gap in the local fabric market which allowed them to turn a small idea into a thriving soft furnishings business, now located in a renovated 19th century barn on their working farm in Hampton Bishop, just three miles east of Hereford.

"Many of our friends were travelling large distances to other areas to source end-of-line and current fabrics, so we thought why not sell them here?" says Coralie.

Complementing these is a large selection of repeatable fabrics also stocked on the roll, and many current books from Romo, Bakers, Colefax, Jane Churchill and Sanderson, to name just a few.

They specialise in selling natural fabrics such as cottons, linens and silks. These have proved extremely popular with their customers, as has their appointment as stockist of Farrow and Ball paints and wallpapers. They also have a wide selection of wooden and locally-made bespoke wrought iron poles on display.

White Hall Fabrics is able to offer a full making up service including fitting and hanging curtains and poles.

An initial free visit and measure from qualified seamstress Helen Price starts the project, which will see the curtains finished and hung just four weeks later.

One of the more recent projects has been to provide all the soft furnishings for the show flat and show home at the prestigious Victoria Court development in Hereford.

Amy Lumputt, who offers a wealth of soft furnishings experience, and Paula Ulyatt, together provide customers with expert friendly advice, and ably support Coralie in the shop.

French and Gustavian painted furniture

White Hall Fabrics has now dedicated two new showrooms to displays of elegant French and Gustavian painted furniture, from beds, bedside tables and armoires to dressers and mirrors, reflecting the current trends in interior decoration.

This has been an exciting new development and they are thrilled with the response from their expanding customer base.

With plans well in hand for further expansion the company is also able to provide but not yet display, bespoke English furniture, from armchairs to ottomans, upholstered in a fabric of your choice.

A visit to White Hall Fabrics will reveal a relaxed friendly atmosphere, where you can also view a wide selection of interior accessories, including clocks, cushions, throws and table lamps.

White Hall Fabrics is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, telephone 01432 870883.
