Worcestershire County Council's Children's Information Service (CIS) provides information and advice to people wishing to work with children, young people and their families.
The CIS can provide guidance on different roles in childcare from working in a playgroup, holiday play scheme, pre-school or day nursery and what qualifications, if any, you need for each. They can also provide information on local college courses in childcare and for those who do not wish to attend college, alternative methods of training available.
For parents looking to return to work, the Children's Information Service also offers information and advice on childcare, free early education places for 3 and 4 year olds and working tax credits.
Carol Leeson, Manager of the Children's Information Service, said: "We provide free and impartial information which we believe is vital those looking to work with children, young people and their families. There are so many benefits to working with children, not least the personal satisfaction of being in a rewarding job."
The Children's Information Service is available on 01905 790560 or you can visit their stand at the 'Every Child Matters Careers Fair' for people looking to work with children, young people and their families. This is being held at Fownes Hotel on
8 June 2006.
