TALENTED youngsters at a Droitwich Spa school performed the Charles Dickens classic David Copperfield as a musical for parents.

Year four, five and six pupils at Whitford Hall and Dodderhill School joined together for a memorable show that featured three girls playing the lead male role and the inclusion of drum beats in the performance.

Parents, relatives and friends were able to enjoy two performances of the play.

Headteacher Joan Mumby said: "The girls were brilliant. Nine, ten and 11-year-olds produced the type of high-quality performance that our year 11s would have been proud of.

"Our music and drama teachers have worked really hard to create a truly memorable show for our parents."
