If you have high standards and you want your home to live up to them, the idea of a bespoke kitchen has obvious appeal - but co-ordinating the various elements can be a logistical nightmare. However, K.A.W. Interior Design offers individually-designed kitchens as well as managing the whole project, meaning less stress for all concerned.

Run by Kevin Walsh, the Kidderminster-based company employs its own full-time installers rather than hiring contractors, while Kevin himself uses his years of experience in the industry to ensure that everything goes smoothly. He is personally involved at every stage of each project, from the initial survey to the design and planning, as well as undertaking some of the building work and advising on interior design.

A detailed work schedule is just one of the aspects individually tailored to the customer's requirements, and the ever-expanding client base proves that such obvious efficiency is appreciated. But it is the kitchen designs themselves that catch the eye on a visit to the showroom - many companies offer a choice of modern or traditional kitchens, but K.A.W's stylish, upmarket displays show a commitment to going the extra mile.

"Our kitchen units are manufactured by a bespoke firm in Birmingham, so we are able to offer non-standard sizes to suit more unusually-shaped kitchens," Kevin points out. "We also offer hand-painted units, which have generated a lot of interest lately - with this service, customers really can have any colour they like, for instance to match an existing theme."

With many kitchens sticking to fairly neutral colour schemes, K.A.W. again stands out from the crowd by offering various components in vibrant colours. For example, one of the most striking designs on display features a DecoGlaze opaque glass wall panel in bright raspberry, between smart white cupboards and a sleek raspberry glass worktop.

"DecoGlaze is very popular in London at the moment," Kevin explains. "It looks amazing because it's so glossy, and it's available in virtually any colour. Another advantage is that it's seamless, making it simple to fit and more hygienic than tiles for a worktop or splashback."

Other contemporary styles include a breakfast bar with glass and chrome chairs, frosted glass panels in cupboards and the gleaming new generation of 'smart' appliances. K.A.W. sources the latter from top brands such as NEFF and Bosch, alongside prestigious kitchen furniture by Wentworth. Meanwhile, the more traditional country-style kitchens are equally well-made and attractive.

Whatever style of kitchen you choose, you can rest assured that your project is in capable hands - Kevin only takes on five or six appointments per week in order to give each project his full attention, plus the compact nature of the company means that you will deal with the same person throughout.
