RENAULT OFFERS THE FUTURE TODAY FOR COMPANY CAR DRIVERS WITH 28 CARS ALREADY MEETING NEW 2008 CO2 INCENTIVE

The government declared a new CO2 emissions incentive for the benefit in kind (BIK) tax on company cars from 20/08/09 cars with CO2 emissions of 120g/km or below will have tax lowered by 5% to 10% of the retail price instead of 15% (or 13% instead of 18% for diesels).

This Government believes the challenge for manufacturers to produce cars meet these emissions and are attractive particularly to the fleet market where a car of reasonable size and cost is of paramount importance.

Renault's fleet customers don't have to wait three years; the future is already here, with 28 cars in Renault's range already emitting 120g/km or less - including the only-non-hybrid medium sized car on the market;

Six New Clios, 11 Modus mini-MPVs, two previous generation Clio Campus and nine medium sized Mganes all use the Renault dCi 68, 86 and 106 engines emitting 120g/km or less, fitting in the VED (road tax) Band B along with hybrid cars - reduced by £35 in the last budget.

Such advanced technology is not expensive, fleet customers can buy a New Clio Expression 1.5 dCi 86 three door which has a CO2 emissions figure of just 117 g/km for just £11,040. Falling into the Band B VED category with a low insurance rating of 2E and a combined fuel consumption of 64.2mpg, Renaults are not only kind to the environment, they are also good for your bank balance too.

Mgane is the only non-hybrid medium sized 120-g/km car

Biggest-selling company cars are medium and large ones; job cars with high motorway mileage or perk cars with job upgrades. This vital area of the market where a car as environmentally friendly as the Government's new target, will be crucial if the incentive is to work.

Renault's Mgane dCi 86 and 106 six-speed fit into the band B category with CO2 emissions of just 120 g/km making; no other non-hybrid medium sized car such as the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra or VW Golf fit into this VED band. Fleet-friendly prices start from just £12,250 for a Mgane Sport Hatch dCi 86 - cheaper than the cheapest hybrid at £16,300.

Currently the best-selling mid-range Mgane Hatch dCi106 Dynamique costing £14,662 would cost a 40% taxpayer £1,055.66 a year when taxed at 18% of the retail price. In 2008 this will be reduced to 13% of the retail price (£1,906.06) meaning a 40% tax payer will pay only £762.42 to the Inland Revenue - a saving of £293.23, enough to treat yourself to a Hollywood blockbuster at the cinema every week

Three weeks after pre-ordering of the New Clio Renaultsport 197 for members of the www.renaultsport.co.uk, your local Renault dealer is now able to take orders for what is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited hot hatch of the year.

Due in showrooms in early July, first deliveries planned for launch day, July 18 - opening day of the British Motor Show at Excel in London also.

The first two customers to receive their cars will have them delivered to their homes as they are Renault F1 Team drivers Fernando Alonso, 2005 F.I.A. Formula One Drivers' World Champion and team mate Giancarlo Fisichella!

Fastest accelerating car for the price

Renault has a rich heritage in performance sport hot hatches, and Renault's New Clio Renaultsport 197 is no exception. With best in class power, an impressive level of standard equipment, and excellent driving dynamics, the Clio Renaultsport 197, priced at £15,995.

F1 Drivers Alonso and Fisichella will appreciate the F1 derived aerodynamic aids that debut on the Clio Renaultsport 197 for the first time. The groundbreaking air diffuser incorporated into the rear bumper, not only makes a striking visual impact but also a technological one on the car's stability.

Adding to the striking exterior, front wing extractors have an aerodynamic function reducing turbulence to optimise the car's drag co-efficient.

Hot air and flow from under the bonnet is facilitated by the extractor vents, also directing air flow along the sides of the car at the same time, enhancing performance to the New Clio Renaultsport 197s best in class power and 0-62mph figure.
