EVEN Hollywood came calling. In 1966, The Rare Breed, starring Maureen O'Hara and James Stewart, told of a widow's quest to fulfill her husband's dream of introducing Hereford cattle into the American West.
The film centres on their efforts to transport their lone bull, a Hereford named Vindicator, to a breeder in Texas.
