FUND-RAISING for Macmillan Cancer Support continues apace throughout Herefordshire.

1. A clothes sale was held at the Shire Hall in Hereford, organised by Rosanna Bulmer, the chairwoman of Herefordshire Macmillan, and raised more than £7,000. 4. Not only did Peter and Christine Dowsett (Ross-on-Wye Macmillan committee members) walk their feet off around Hereford seeking prizes for their Macmillan May Day, at Much Birch Community Hall, they spent weeks baking for the event, which was enjoyed by all who attended. Peter is pictured mid bake!

5. Hampton Dene Primary School pupils raised nearly £3,000 by taking part in the annual Big Hush for Macmillan Cancer Support. 6. Herefordshire's Macmillan 4x4 Challenge saw 51 teams started out on a Friday night from the Baskerville Arms in Clyro and head for Wales -- they thought. In fact they caught a ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare and spent the next 24 hours competing in Ireland. Then they crossed back from Dublin to Holyhead, went into heavy snow around Snowdon, down to Lake Bala and eventually ended up tired but happy in Warrington. This year's event is on target to raise £50,000
