ENERGIE Fitness is the new name for Club Ventura, the Redditch health and fitness club - and members can now look forward to extra benefits and improved facilities as well as the usual friendly atmosphere.

"The club is still owned independently, but becoming part of the Energie franchise will mean a new lease of life for the club," explains owner Scott Jones. "We already have a good membership base, and will be increasing the social aspect of membership with regular special events."

The club boasts a large studio as well as the gym, with its cardio-vascular and resistance equipment plus a free weights area. Forty classes take place every week, while the squash and racketball courts are very popular. Members can also relax in the spa area - and parents will appreciate the on-site crche where kids and even babies can be left safely during a workout.

Scott, who has 16 years' experience in the fitness industry and has worked in regional management for LA Fitness, LivingWell and Bannatyne's, as well as owning two clubs previously, says that the rebranded Energie Fitness will represent a lifestyle for its members.

"Here, you can socialise and learn about nutrition as well as getting fit," he points out. "There's a fully licensed bar and a function room, and we plan to offer food in the future."

Unique to Energie clubs is the offer of an initial, no-contract, six-week programme, including five one-to-one sessions with a personal trainer. Energie guarantees that you will see results - or you'll get your money back.

"We don't want to tie people to a contract until they feel confident that Energie is right for them," Scott adds. "And to celebrate the club's re-branding, we are offering three days' free training to anyone who wants to get a flavour of what we do."

The official re-launch takes place over Bank Holiday weekend, and includes a Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 28. Extended opening hours - to be added later.
