HUMPHRIES Shoes started business in 1862 when Walter Humphries opened a shop in Evesham Street, Redditch.
He and an assistant made boots and shoes by hand on the premises. Four generations later the business is still going strong and also has a second shop on Alcester High Street.
"As one of the few independent shoe stores we can buy the best there is on offer and have suppliers from the UK and overseas.
The high standards of service we maintain result in customer loyalty and we have people from as far away as Cornwall who still return to shop with us," said Nick Humphries.
The extensive stock of ladies shoes includes all the leading brands from the UK and Europe whilst Humphries is noted for its trained fitters, especially important for Children's shoes. Humphries is a Clarks Main Fitting Centre and Start-Rite main stockist.
Male customers also have plenty of choice and well-known British made shoes include Barker and Loake.
"We pride ourselves on offering the winning combination of quality and variety, whilst still giving good value for money," added Nick who runs the shop with father Don and brothers Hugh and Paul.
The range of stock is designed to meet all pockets and a team of 25 full and part time staff is on hand to ensure that standards of service remain at the high levels that have enabled Humphries Shoes to prosper for more than a century.
Opening hours are 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. We are also open from 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays at Redditch.
