A BUSINESS that started with clothes alternations has blossomed into an Aladdin's Cave of haberdashery.

Sew-Fab in Alcester Street (opposite the main Redditch Post Office) is the Place to go for clothes alternations, curtain making, tapestry work and a range of haberdashery and craft products.

Josephine Thomas has been altering clothes for several years but it was only two months ago that she decided to spread her wings and open "Sew-Fab."

The two-story shop has really caught the local imagination both for people who want sewing work done for them and as a source of materials for home enthusiasts. A full range of materials and accessories are available including DMC embroidery skeins.

"People pop in and find they have walked into an Aladdin's Cave. They stay longer than they expected because there is so much to see," said Josephine who admits she has been taken by surprise by the interest in the shop since it opened.

The next step is to build up the craft side of the business. "Sew - Fab" is open Mondays to Fridays from 9am until 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 1pm.
