TEN-year-old Holly Chaplain let her imagination take flight to beat thousands of other entrants and win a national creative writing competition run on BBC Radio 4.

The Great Witley CofE pupil was judged top in the Fox's Tale competition on the station's Go 4 It programme, after being inspired by motorcycles riding by with fox's tails hanging from them.

Holly, of Stourport Road, Great Witley, who said she was "very shocked" to win, came up with the idea of a fox in Heaven whose tail was used by bikers, giving him the chance to return to Earth and "go on the ride of his life" with them.

"I was over the moon when I found out and I couldn't stop thinking about it," she said. "I like using my imagination and I just think it's nice to write."

Her prizes included a visit to the BBC Radio 4 studios to take part in Go 4 It, books and a tee-shirt.
