WELL, the Worcester Festival is in full swing. The weather has been pretty poor, but on the whole, we have tried not to let it affect us too much and certainly not dampen our spirits.

It has meant slightly smaller audiences at some things, but not too many, and we are ploughing on, hopefully sweeping all before us.

The only question now is, will I survive it? It doesn't get any easier, you know.

There has been much more street theatre this year and I do hope you have managed to catch some of it around the city. Humphrey and Renshaw, as well as performing an excellent sketch show at the Hall, entertained crowds all last week outside the Guildhall, the highlight being the violin duet with no violins. Extremely funny.

The anarchic 'amusing nuns' also made a lot of people laugh on the first Saturday - watch out for them, they're back tomorrow. In addition, there has been music and dance at Cathedral Plaza, CrownGate and The Fountains, and it has all helped tocreate a great festival atmosphere.

There has been some quality drama around too, and Twelfth Night, One Fine Day, April in Paris, The Catalyst and Hamlet have offered some fine choices. I've seen all of them, and they were absolutely terrific.

Isn't it great to have such choice during August?

So, now there are only three days to go.

There are still some tickets for the Madness tribute at the Swan on Monday... still some tickets for the stars of D'Oyly Carte singing G & S at the Hall, also on Monday, and hopefully, we'll see you all at the Fireworks at the Fountains at 10pm on Monday night.
