If the pressures of modern life are getting you down, Andrea Calvesbert knows just the place to go to have all your cares massaged away

We all spend so much time rushing around thinking about the next thing we need to be doing that it is lovely to find an oasis of calm in Evesham High Street.

The Taramantik Centre only opened in January this year but already its list of complementary health practitioners is attracting clients from far and wide.

Offering a range of therapies including reiki, shiatsu massage, crystal healing, reflexology and hypnotherapy, the centre is a haven for people suffering from emotional stresses and depression who may choose a reiki session or shiatsu massage and others who just want a relaxing aromatherapy massage.

"We really want the centre to be accessible to everyone. We are not here just for the chosen few, we really want to encourage anyone to pop in and benefit from these holistic treatments," said Ruth Bain, who set up the Taramantik Centre with her business partner Jackie Croft.

Ruth is a qualified massage therapist and also a reiki practitioner. The other therapists work on a self-employed basis and come into the centre when they have bookings, so appointments are available almost any time, with half-price days on Mondays and Saturdays to fulfil Ruth and Jackie's aim of making it accessible to all.

Ruth added: "It is extremely rewarding. Already we have had a really good response. Most of our clients either drop in when they are passing, or quite a few are through word of mouth.

"Some people come in when they are feeling really depressed and after a few treatments and a couple of weeks down the line they are changed people."

If you are passing, pop in, even if it is just for a coffee, herbal tea and a quiet half hour of reading in the serene coffee shop. For more information contact Ruth on 01386 423898.
