Complementary therapist Linda Thomas is embarking on a mission to create calm and effective working environments.

As well as offering the full range of holistic therapies at Sempre in Kidderminster town centre, Linda will visit businesses to treat employees to a deeply soothing Indian head massage.

"All you need is a chair. I can do head massages at their desks and it brings calmness to a very busy environment," said Linda, who went on to explain:

"An over-production of adrenalin is not productive. To be relaxed doesn't mean you are sleepy, but that you are focused, thinking clearer and therefore more effective."

Her therapy centre, located in Vicar Street opposite the town hall above the Britannia Building Society, is where business people, hurried mums, young and old can help restore their well-being with therapies like reflexology, Reiki, aqua detox, aromatherapy or body toning massage.

This friendly and inviting centre also offers thermal auricular therapy in which organic ear candles infused with aromatic healing herbs are used to help ease physical discomforts including blocked sinuses, tinnitus, allergy symptoms and snoring.

Completing the range of holistic therapies from which to choose is hypnosis - undertaken by Michael Skirving D.Hyp, MIAH, Worcestershire's only qualified hypnoanalyst with the International Association of Hypnoanalysts.

Whether you are looking to overcome a fear or phobia, ease exam nerves or resolve more deep-rooted anxieties hypnosis could be the answer - and according to the New Scientist magazine hypnotherapy is the most effective way to quit smoking!

Michael offers a free initial consultation to discuss your issues and advise the best course of action.

Sempre also offers the full range of beauty therapies, hairdressing and chiropody, all of which help boost feelings of well-being and self worth.

Linda never ceases to be inspired by the influence a healthy, positive mind has on the body - whether in relieving the physical manifestations of stress or in alleviating some of the effects of diseases like cancer and MS.

"With the holistic therapies we offer the tools for people to use when they are ready. People have to want to come," she said, adding:

"It's also important that people feel good about themselves in order to cope with all the pressures of life - and they feel better when they leave here."

Appointments can be arranged out of normal hours and Linda or Michael are happy to talk to potential clients about the therapies on offer or will post them a brochure if requested.
