TWO of Bromsgrove School's upper sixth formers have been honoured for their outstanding contribution to the school community.

Rose Lake and Ben Rymer received Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Awards for their work to tackle bullying.

Rose and Ben have chaired the pupil anti-bullying committee at Bromsgrove for two years. During their time they initiated an anti-bullying policy written by the pupils and launched a poster highlighting the support available to them.

They have also spoken to the whole school on several occasions.

Their work was praised by Esther Rantzen when she visited the school in May 2005.

The award is a first for the school and the letter that they both received states that "what makes Diana Award holders unique is that you are truly inspirational."

Ben and Rose both left school in July, but both go forward in their future lives knowing that they have made a real and very important difference to the school community.

Their work will be continued by the committee, which strives to make Bromsgrove a happy and safe environment for all of its pupils.
