5. A high profile delegation from the Gulf States visited the West Midlands to view the world-class equine facilities the region has to offer. Because of the heat, it is impossible to train horses and riders during the summer in the Gulf so many come to Europe to train. visitors including government ministers and royals from Oman, Qatar and Egypt visited the yard of former jump jockey Peter Scudamore in Ross-on-Wye.
