THE future of the town is set to come under the spotlight with a special consultation exercise that will draw up a document aimed at shaping the Spa's future.

The Town Plan steering group is developing a strategy for consulting local people.

It is hoped that the consultation will ensure that the Town Plan reflects the views and needs of the community.

The steering group, which has an executive committee of eight people, has been working on the document since March.

It's looking at every aspect of the community from education and business to transport and town facilities. Twelve people have been appointed to research the various aspects and issues and draw up various proposals and suggestions.
