Christmas is all about traditions, from opening the advent calendar and decorating the tree to carol singing, and for parents with children no Christmas would be complete without a visit to Father Christmas himself.

Stourbridge's very own Santa's Grotto has a tradition all of its own - delighting children each year in the heart of the Ryemarket.

Opening on Saturday 2nd December, a whole shop unit has been transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland complete with displays of snowmen and reindeer, in a specially themed grotto.

Santa, with his sacks of presents for good girls and boys, will be comfortably installed in his cabin from 10.30 to 4.30pm each Saturday in December and then daily from 18th - 24th inclusive.

Christmas Eve opening times are 10 - 2pm.

Santa's Grotto is ideal for children aged three - 12, with each child receiving a suitable gift for only £3.50. Alternatively for £5, those wishing to capture the moment forever, can have a photograph taken by Santa's helper.

Popular children's entertainer 'Mad Domenic' will be performing on Saturday 16th December - a 'must-see' spectacle of Father Christmas as you've never seen him before - on stilts! Combined with magic tricks, it will enthral your children and create special memories.

Lots of other fun activities for children will be put on during the Saturdays leading up to Christmas, ensuring that shopping in the Ryemarket is a pleasurable experience for parents and children alike.
