SIR Cliff Richard and Chris Tarrant are just two of the celebrities who have enjoyed dining out at Arden Tandoori.

But you too could experience the star treatment this Christmas when the Henley-in-Arden restaurant throws open its doors on Christmas Day.

Owner Nanu Miah has drawn up a five-course menu for the day and he expects it to be as popular as ever.

Customers can choose from a traditional English menu with roast turkey or from an authentic Indian meal with a chicken mossala dish as its centrepiece.

The Christmas Day extravaganza costs £24.95 per person with children under 14 eating for £12.95.

The Arden Tandoori is also running Christmas lunches and dinners from December 1-24.

The £10.95 lunch includes three courses with coffee with chicken jaflong and lamb badam passanda served up as the main attraction.

The three-course evening menu, costing £12.95, has chicken minty bahar and lohari methi goasth as its main courses.

A New Year's Eve menu, costing £39.95 per couple, is also available with a complimentary glass of champagne included.

Mr Miah recommends booking as soon as possible though as December is always a busy time for the restaurant.

Last year saw the award-winning venue undergo a major refurbishment with additional seating created upstairs providing a gallery area - perfect for a private party.

The work has seen Arden Tandoori double in size and was needed to cope with the ever increasing numbers of loyal customers.

"We have been here for 23 years and some customers have been with us for all those years," Mr Miah explained.

"We have had children eating with us in the past and they have now grown up and bring their children to Arden Tandoori.

"Other customers have moved away from the area but still come back here to eat because they like the food and service so much."

In the run-up to Christmas, the restaurant is an ideal place to hold a party, whether it is for a group of friends or business colleagues.

The menu is bursting with familiar dishes including kormas and biriyanis but there are also a wide range of specials.

These include ranga chingri - a lobster dish served in a spicy massala sauce - and beautifully prepared fish dishes.

And with the restaurant being licensed, there's no need to go hunting around when you have forgotten to bring the wine and beers.
