TRADITIONAL Chinese cooking using the best ingredients - surely there can't be a better reason for visiting Summer Palace this Christmas.

And this Christmas is sure to see the restaurant as busy as ever as diners enjoy the Summer Palace Platinum Menu - a stunning selection of the best in Peking and Cantonese cuisine.

The menu, which is available for four or more diners, is a Christmas platter of starters including favourites such as ribs, beef satay and spring rolls.

And with sizzling fillet steak, crispy aromatic duck and a Szechuan king prawn dish among the main courses - not to mention Christmas pudding or banana fritters to round things off - it really makes for a memorable meal.

The Platinum Menu costs £26 per person and will be available from December 1.

But there is no need to wait until then to sample the food.

Summer Palace is open lunchtimes and evenings seven days-a-week and a takeaway service is also available.

Families are particularly welcome while the expansive dining area has a number of areas that can be screened off for that special Christmas party or celebration.

It goes without saying for such a popular venue that booking, particularly in the run-up to Christmas, is recommended.
