A pupil at Wolverhampton Grammar School has been awarded the Tildesley & Tonks economics and business award.
The winning student, Claire Cartwright, received a prize of £200 and a silver salver for her effort. The award was made in response to a summer essay writing competition entitled: Evaluate the impact on the local (West Midlands) economy of the move towards locally grown and organic produce.
This is the sixth year running that the Wolverhampton-based accountancy firm has set the challenge for WGS' first year A-level students.
The competition encourages pupils to research current issues that are or will make an impact globally, regionally and locally.
Mark Evans, Tildesley & Tonks' MD, said: "We believe that this is an excellent way of helping support the city's future professionals."
Success on a plate: Mark Evans gives Claire Cartwright her award.
