Headmaster, children, staff and parents at The Knoll School, Kidderminster, are celebrating the fantastic news published in the Sunday Times Parent Power 2006 CD.

The Knoll is in the top 100 independent preparatory schools in the country, ranked at 80th nationally and first in Worcestershire.

Children in year six are expected to achieve level four in maths, English and science in the Key Stage two national tests.

The Parent Power survey actually looks at schools' performance in attaining level five, equivalent to a 13-year-old. They then rank the top 250 schools in each category, state, independent, primary and senior.

Last September The Knoll First Steps Nursery, which is for three months to rising three-year-olds, was selected by the Worcestershire early years education department to represent independent early years education within the county on its promotional DVD.

The Knoll, founded in 1917, continues to be a caring family school where the children come first. It has a tradition to be proud of and embraces the latest interactive technology in the classroom.

The Knoll remains a very popular school and benefits greatly from the support of its parents. This was confirmed in a recent parental questionnaire where parents were asked about their overall view of the school.

Seventy nine per cent said they were very pleased, while 21 per cent were pleased.

The Knoll School looks forward to continued success and achievement in the future.

Fantastic news: Christopher Hodnett and Fiona Starkie with the CD.
