SEVERAL athletes from Malvern Girls' College will be taking part in the Hereford & Worcester athletics event tomorrow (Saturday) at Nunnery Wood following selection for the Malvern Hills district team.
The girls who gained selection are: Jo Lambie, 100 metres and relay; Tatiana Brown, 200 metres and relay; Nancy Zhang, hurdles; Addy Lawson, shot putt; Blessing Nwadike, discus; Paula Fearon, discus; Maddy Hurley, long jump; Vicky Ayininuola, 100 metres. Reserve: Kike Ayininuola, shot putt.
Maddy Hurley and Nancy Zhang also competed in a separate competition, the district combined even, where they came first and second respectively.
This involved them competing in five events, hurdles, long jump, high jump, 800m and shot putting.
Nancy will be competing for the district in the regional round in Oxford, which includes seven events, the previous events plus javelin and 200m, on June 25 and 26.
