AN array of new attractions will draw visitors to this year's Three Counties Show on June 17, 18 and 19.

Organisers are hoping to smash last year's 99,000 visitor record with an extended range of events.

For the first time, the National British Angora Goat Show will feature, along with a rare breeds day on the Sunday.

Other firsts include a country living village, with mountain bike course and fun-fair, heavy horse village with obstacle course, and a golf roadshow.

Show favourites, the grand livestock parade, sheep shearing competition and heavy horse event are still high on the agenda.

Spokesman Sharon Gilbert said livestock entries were buoyant, with a substantial increase in sheep and rare breed cattle sections.

"In spite of ongoing challenges in farming, breeders throughout Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and beyond are demonstrating their support in numbers," she said.

"It proves Malvern remains a popular venue for showcasing some of the finest quality livestock in England and Wales."

Heavy horse entries are at record levels, with 40 horses competing in the main arena throughout the weekend.

Their canine counterparts will also feature highly, completing breathtaking stunts at the Paws for Thought dog agility show.

The popular cookery theatre continues to flourish, with a special competition cook-off for young chefs on Friday.

Nine primary school pupils from across the three counties will create a variety of mouth-watering dishes to win a £100 token for their school and a regional food hamper.

Regular attractions include gun dog scurries, falconry, shooting, cider and perry competition and Red Devils Parachute Team display.
