ONE former pupil of a Kidderminster school travelled halfway around the world to attend a reunion.
A total of 185 ex-students, from all over the globe, gathered at Sladen CE Middle School for the annual event, which included a supper.
Members of the Old Sladenians group, which organised the reunion, heard that membership numbers were increasing.
With the school due to close in July, 2007 as part of the Wyre Forest district's schools reorganisation, Old Sladenians' chairman and secretary, Geoffrey Lloyd, said it would bring to an end continuous senior school education there since it opened in 1940.
"I dread to imagine what founding headmaster, the late Ralph Tweddle, would have to say," he added, "Sladen is, well loved oved by vast numbers of pupils who share happy memories of their time there."
