COOKHILL residents are celebrating after their recently-revamped village hall was given the seal of approval.
Wychavon District Council, the local authority for the village, recently awarded the hall its prestigious Seal of Excellence certificate.
The accolade is only given to village halls with the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety.
Village hall spokeswoman Eileen Payne said: "Other criteria we had to meet include good communications with user groups. We have to do it all, basically."
She later added: "We are really pleased with the award. It is nice to be recognised for meeting a high standard."
She said the certificate would soon take pride of place in the hall, which was reopened after a major renovation last November.
