RESIDENTS of Wyre Forest are being invited to have a say in improving public rights of way such as footpaths and bridleways.

Worcestershire County Council's countryside service has to draw up an improvements plan for rights of way under Government legislation.

The plan - to be ready by November, 2007 - will be prepared and implemented following consultation with the public.

Anyone completing a questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw to win outdoor clothing or equipment worth up to £100.

Richard Preston, the county council's senior countryside access development officer, said: "This will be the first Rights of Way Improvement Plan and will help influence the future of rights of way in Worcestershire for the next 10 years. It's really important we get people who use rights of way, or want to use them, to give their opinion."
