A MATCH to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Worcestershire Bowling Association saw a team packed with past officers of the English Association and former county presidents from all over the country take on host club Broadway.
In perfect conditions, the WBA put up a strong fight but their national counterparts pulled away at the end to record a 116-89 victory.
A four-course meal was served after the game when Broadway president, Peter Springell, welcomed both teams.
EBA President, John Tolley and WBA President Graham Hill, who are both from the Hewell club in Redditch, both agreed that the green was in excellent condition and all their members had enjoyed their visit to the Cotswolds.
Back in the Concorde League, Broadway visited Bredon last Saturday in a return fixture and recorded an emphatic victory with victory on al five rinks.
Captain Colin Cooper led by example with a 25-13 success, while there were good wins for Dennis Hall, Mark Rainbow and Paul Speake.
Andrew Walters, meanwhile, managed to squeeze past Maurice Pullin in a close game.
