A CONVICTED murderer who absconded from Hewell Grange Prison was arrested in Stoke on Sunday (May 22). Police found Stoke man Michael James Smith, 50, in a Trent Vale home at 5.20pm.
He had been issued a travel warrant for a home visit but was expected to return to the Tardebigge jail on Friday May 13. Smith was convicted of murder in 1976.
