Evesham and District Disabled AC and Partnership's

MEMBERS took part in the second round of the Evening Summer League last Thur-sday on the Middle Pool at Manor Farm.

Another good turnout of 15 competitors enjoyed good sport with Wayne Panting taking the honours with a top weight of 36.0.0.

Jerry Akerman (27.8.0) was runner-up ahead of Ron Williams (21.9.0) and namesake Dirk (18.12.0).

The next midweek match is at the same venue while the next Sunday outing is on the Match (Westminster) Lake at Lemington Lakes.

There was a charity match at a private lake near Pershore last Sunday when members were greeted with beautiful sunshine.

Akerman was the winner with a weight of 31.10.0 and he received the Harman Charity Shield Trophy from Clive and Joyce Harman.

Roy Thomson was in second place (30.0.0), Clive Harman was third (22.14.0) and Howard Norledge fourth with a weight of 22.8.0.

Evesham Jubilee Society

SATURDAY'S Open match on Phil's Pool saw 16 bream to 7lbs caught alongside tench to 4lbs on a day when Jim Hands took top spot with a net weighing 21.13.0.

Open matches continue on Tuesday nights and it is hoped that the recent excellent catches continue. All are welcome for the draw at 5.30pm.

The next Open match on a Saturday takes place on June 11 when again all are welcome for the 9am draw. There's an all-in entry of £10, book in on 01386 41273.

Committee members are reminded that the next meeting takes place on Monday, June 13 starting at 8pm at headquarters.
