STUDLEY face a wicketkeeper crisis ahead of this weekend's Division Two clash with Wolverhampton.

And it could not come at a worse time as the village side looks set to bounce back from their most dismal display of the season on Bank Holiday Monday.

Wicketkeeper Simon Stamenkovic broke his finger on Saturday and looks set to miss the next four weeks.

Skipper Mark Edward took over behind the stumps midway through the Solihull Blossomfield innings and kept wicket on Monday. But club spokesman Richard Gregory admits a solution needs to be found.

"We don't know what we will be doing yet," he said. "We are trying to contact someone that was with the club last year otherwise we will have to promote from the seconds."

The Washford Fields side went into the weekend at the head of Division Two but a winning draw against struggling Solihull and a seven-wicket drubbing at the hands of Tamworth have seen them slip back into the pack.

Studley posted a decent score of 255 against Solihull, opener Adie Smith batting the top score with a knock of 84.

But the visitors held on to claim a draw having scored 246-7 from their 55 overs.

"Maybe we were a bit complacent after scoring such a total," Gregory added. "We didn't get the wickets and the fielding also let us down."

But it was the batsmen who failed to produce on Monday when Studley were dismissed for a miserly 66, just two players reaching double figures.

Stamenkovic, Gregory and Mark Lewis were all missing and the home side needed just 17.5 overs to cruise home.
