BROMSGROVE police are re-appealing for information after a cold-blooded shooting outside a town post office.

A Post Office worker who was shot in the neck with a handgun during an armed robbery outside Lickey Post Office, in Old Birmingham Road, is stable in hospital where he will remain for some considerable time.

The man was attacked when he and a colleague arrived in a van to deliver cash on April 21.

After the raid a grey Mitsubishi Evolution, believed to have contained three or four people wearing balaclavas, was driven erratically towards Bristol Road where a couple in a grey Rover had their vehicle stolen at gunpoint by the gang.

The Rover car was later found burnt out in Bartley Green.

Det Insp Sheila Thornes, of West Mercia Constabulary, said: "We've been really happy with the response from the public so far.

"We would like to thank those people who have come forward as witnesses and helped with our investigation."

She added: "We are now particularly keen to find out exactly where the grey Mitsubishi Evolution, used in the robbery, had been stored. We know the vehicle was stolen from the Derby area overnight on March 22 and it was then used in the robbery on April 21."

The vehicle's registration number is WX05 AUT.

The Post Office has also offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the successful arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Anyone with information about the vehicle should contact Bromsgrove police on 08456 444 888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
