UPPER Arley proved they had staying power when they were crowned Wyre Forest Parish Games champions 2005 after leading the tournament from start to finish.
Although they only managed third place in the final event, a general knowledge quiz last week, they did enough in the previous rounds to take the title.
Bewdley won the two-and-a-half hour quiz at Kidderminster Town Hall, but could only finish fifth place overall.
Upper Arley team leader Richard Wright was presented with the trophy by Wyre Forest District Council vice chairman Councillor John Simmonds.
Quiz results: 1 Bewdley, 2 Wolverley and Cookley, 3 Upper Arley, 4 Churchill and Blakedown, 5 Stourport, 6 Kidderminster Foreign.
Final standings: 1 Upper Arley 63 points, 2 Wolverley 60, 3 Churchill and Blakedown 59, 4 Kidderminster Foreign 55, 5 Bewdley 43, 6 Stourport 30, 7 Stone 29, 8 Rock 10.
