MARTIAL ARTS: Cage fighter Ross 'The Boss' Mason flew the flag for Britain in his latest contest.

And the Woodrow ace proved too strong for French opponent Damien Riccio, taking the victory with a technical knockout towards the end of the third round.

The fight was part of the prestigious Cage Rage bill at Wembley Conference Centre, an event presented by Richard Blackwood.

And despite being called up at the last minute, 28-year-old Mason was delighted with his performance.

"Cage Rage is the biggest event of its kind in the country and Riccio was a tough, experienced fighter who had beaten a number of our top fighters," he explained.

Mason, who has a background in Thai boxing and jujitsu, looked to be in control of the fight before bringing the contest to a halt 25 seconds from the end of the scheduled three-round contest.

And he was full of praise for the supporters who followed him to London at such short notice.

"The support I had was brilliant - it was a real boost," Mason added.
