A DISTRAUGHT dog-owner whose Staffordshire Bull Terrier was stolen in Beoley is appealing for help to return it.
Anne-Marie White, of Kings Norton, was walking Maisey in Seafield Lane at 10.30am on Tuesday, May 17, when a white van drew up.
The dog ran over to the van and the L-registration Ford Transit drove off, with the dog believed to be inside it.
Miss White said: "She's very friendly and ran over to the van, expecting to be fussed, but in this case Maisey's friendliness was her downfall."
She said she has been unable to settle since the two-year-old bitch's disappearance and is offering a reward of £200 to anyone who returns the dog.
She said: "I haven't been myself without her. She's the child I haven't got and a real part of the family.
"I'm absolutely distraught and I can't function without her."
Police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of the short-legged, black and brindled dog should call Wythall police on 08457 444 888.
