MAGICIEN, ridden by Lorna Brooke, followed up her win at last week's Upper Sapey meeting with success in the Mixed Open at the Albighton Woodland Hunt at Chaddesley Corbett yesterday.

Trained by Steve Isaac at his Shobden stables in North Herefordshire, Magicien all-owed Pride of Pennker to lead for much of the final circuit only to challenge at the last two fences.

Totland Bay was sent off even money favourite for the Confined following his hard fought win at Bredwardine last time.

Rider Tom Weston seemingly had the race won as he saw off Suaverof but arriving late was the Richard Armson-ridden captain O'Neill.

Armson's mount to challenge approaching the final fence and Totland Bay had no answer as Captain O'Neill recorded a length win with Suarverof seven lengths back.

The Members race produced a surprise when odds-on favourite Snowtre finished a disappointing third behind the Emma James-ridden Sorrento King, an easy 15-length winner from All Eyez on Me.
