A PHARMACY in St John's, Worcester, will soon be moving to new premises - across the road from the present site.
Fionna Murray, purchasing director for Murrays Healthcare Pharmacy, which runs St John's Pharmacy on the corner of St John's next to the traffic lights, said it never considered moving the pharmacy out of the area.
The new shop will be just yards away at 2 Bromyard Road. It is expected to open in late June.
"It's a bigger premises for a better service," she said. "We're going to be selling mobility aids, things like scooters, wheelchairs and walking sticks." The company is a family business, set up by Mrs Murray's grandfather, Cyril Murray, 85 years ago this year.
Murrays Healthcare runs four pharmacies in Worcester, including its newest, which opened last week along with the £3m Elbury Moor Medical Centre in Fairfield Close, Brickfields.
The Worcester News reportedyesterday, that South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust has refused this outlet a licence to dispense prescriptions because, according to the PCT, there is already a pharmacy nearby and another is not needed.
