THEY pulled it, drove it, judged it, arranged it, danced it and sheared it too. When Young Farmers get stuck in there's not much they can't do.

They came from all over the county to the Three Counties Showground at Malvern last Saturday for the 57th Annual County Show of the Worcestershire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs.

Sponsored by David Rose (Farms) Limited, the day demonstrated a wide range of skills and disciplines.

There were traditional competitions such as sheep shearing and tractor handling, while fine skills were displayed in the art, craft and floral competitions, and strength and vitality in abundance in the tug of war, aerobics and cheer leading competitions.

Calf classes were welcomed back again this year for the first time since foot-and-mouth with a good number of entries.

More than 40 competitions were held on show day, with carcase and stockjudging competitions having been held previously.

All the clubs were trying hard to gain points and many competitors went home with some hard-earned trophies for their sideboards.

The Show Cup for the top club went to Wythall YFC for the first time in its 60 year history.
