YOUR reporting and comment on fathers being asked to leave the pitch ("Proud dads forbidden from cheering their daughters from the sidelines", Worcester News, Monday, May 23) was one-sided, misinformed and somewhat sensationalist.

We are not talking about a competitive game here. The sessions concerned were trials for the next season. Is it so unreasonable to expect parents to drop off their children and allow the coaches to get on with their job?

The fathers concerned were asked to stand all of a few yards away and I'm sure that they would be the first to complain if anything vaguely inappropiate was to happen concerning their daughters.

My daughter plays for Worcester City and there is never any problem with her father of other fathers cheering the girls on.

You report about matches being aborted because of parents' intervention. Why can't we leave the qualified coaches to get on with their job and let our daughters enjoy some activity without parents having to be refereed at the same time?

JACKY HUGHES,

Worcester.
