WALES international Ryan Green handed manager Graham Turner another major boost by agreeing a new deal.

The 24-year-old right full-back ended speculation of a move away from Hereford United by becoming the seventh player to commit himself to next season.

He signed another 12-month contract at Edgar Street, following on from striker Adam Stansfield and defender Simon Travis in agreeing fresh terms with the Bulls.

The quartet of Jamie Pitman, Danny Carey-Bertram, Sam Gwynne and Andy Williams pencilled new deals immediately after United's Conference play-off semi-final defeat to Stevenage Borough.

Director of football Turner is now waiting on decisions of defenders Tony James, Tamika Mkandawire, Andy Tretton and Mark Robinson, along with midfield pair Rob Purdie and Craig Stanley.

Green, born in Cardiff, signed in the summer of 2003 after being released by Sheffield Wednesday and remains a regular,

instrumental figure in Hereford's rearguard.

Last season, however, he struggled to rekindle the same form that made him a hit among supporters following his move from Hillsborough.

He appeared in 26 league games, but struggled with a troublesome hamstring injury in January and was forced out of the side on occasions.

Meanwhile, four Hereford United players representing England National Game XI could be winners tonight if they defeat rivals Scotland in the Four Nations tournament.

Travis, Robinson, Stansfield and Stanley all appeared for the Lions in Tuesday night's opening 1-0 victory over Ireland at the University of Cork.

Stanley and Robinson were also starters for England during their 1-0 triumph against 2003 champions Wales on Thursday.

They will now look to finish the job against the 'auld enemy' Scotland, although Travis is unlikely to figure after damaging his ribs.
