'THE King' will be alive in Worcester again - for one night only - as The Spirit of Elvis and The Sweet Inspirations concert comes to the city tonight.

The gig, at Huntingdon Hall, marks what would have been Elvis's 70th birthday this year and is part of a UK tour.

The Sweet Inspirations, pictured below - Elvis's original vocal backing group - first caught the attention of the legendary showman with their first hit single Sweet Inspiration, which earnt them a Grammy nomination in 1968.

He subsequently signed them up as an opening act for his record-breaking 1969 Las Vegas engagement.

And the original Sweet Inspirations line-up - Myrna Smith, Sylvia Shemwell and Estelle Brown - who completed a staggering 1,126 shows with 'The King' will be in the city for tonight's gig.

And they will be accompanied by Louis Rockafella, the UK's number one Elvis lookalike and soundalike who performs all over the world.

Their show recreates the magic of Elvis live in concert from 1973 to 1977, with favourites such as Suspicious Minds and Wonder of You all set for an airing.

Tickets are still available - priced £15 - and the show starts at 8pm.
