IN a Village Championship game that always looked vulnerable to the forecast heavy showers Colwall were inserted by home team Feckenham on Sunday.
FECKENHAM v COLWALL
Humphries, bowling down the slope, generated pace and bounce and whilst at times hostile was also guilty of spraying the ball around. A number of early wides helped Colwall to overcome the loss of Wolfendale for a single, he had chased a wide ball to offer the keeper an easy catch.
David Powell asserted his authority in a battle with Humphries which has lasted the better part of 20 years. A clip off his toes for three followed by a thumping belt through cover for four. Nick Panniers ably supported the senior partner, pick of his shots the most delicate of late cuts for four from Feckenham's Monk.
As the clouds gathered only Griffiths of the home bowlers was able to stem the flow of runs and the partnership of 80 could only be broken by the downpour which saw the end of the afternoon's entertainment.
The match will be replayed at Stowe Lane, Colwall, on Sunday, where fair weather and a good crowd are hoped for.
