GARY Webb and N Taylor are both absolutely bigoted in their antagonism to Europe and both favour USA.
However, the latter also hates our first-past-the-post electoral system. Therefore, I merely pointed out to him that in most of Europe they have proportional representation instead of the system he hates, which we share with USA. So why is Mr Webb so upset?
This correspondent remarks that we are the world's fourth largest economy.
That is so, but it is an economy that consists to a large extent of services whereas what was once all-important was heavy industry.
We should draw nearer to our European neighbours if only to counter the malign influence of USA.
