BIDFORD county councillor Peter Barnes is calling for reduced speed limits to be introduced through the village.
Joy Keeley, the new chairman of Bidford Parish Council and Elisabeth Uggerloese, the parish clerk, attended a meeting last Wednesday to discuss speed limits with Katrina Pedlar, a highways safety officer for Warwickshire County Council.
Bidford councillors would like to see the speed limit from Crawford Hall to Marriage Hill, lowered from 60mph to 40mph.
And they are also calling for a reduction in speed at Waterloo Road to be changed from 40mph to 30mph.
Cllr Barnes said: "A meeting was called and hopefully things will start to move forward.
"The speed in these areas needs to be lowered for public safety reasons."
