A LOYAL volunteer was given a pleasant surprise with a presentation recognising her work at a hospital shop.
Lesley Grant, 74, of Oldnall Road, Kidderminster, has been volunteering at the WRVS shop at Kidderminster Hospital since it first opened in 1972.
She recently retired from being the shop's project manager after 21 years but is still working in the shop every week.
Mrs Grant said her colleagues had not told her about the presentation. "It was an absolute surprise, I had no idea," she explained.
"I went in and they were all there. I was given gardening vouchers from all my friends who work there, which was really lovely."
Mrs Grant, who used to volunteer with the WRVS meals on wheels service, said the best thing about volunteering was that she was able to meet lots of people.
