TWO players have warned they cannot wait forever as the Kidderminster Harriers take-over saga rumbles on.

One of Stuart Watkiss' transfer targets, former Shrewsbury left-back Trevor Challis, has admitted a move to Aggborough interests him.

And out-of-contract midfield dynamo Dean Keates is keen to commit his future to the club in their return to the Nationwide Conference.

But manager Watkiss has been unable to make concrete offers to either, due to the uncertainty over his budget.

Owner Lionel Newton has slated the current board for stalling over showing the books to the mystery Hampshire consortium as the war of words behind the scenes continues.

And 29-year-old Challis, who has also played for QPR and Bristol Rovers, said: "Kidderminster is a club I'd love to come to but I know they've got to sort their finances first."

Keates admitted: "I can't say where I'll be because everything is up in the air at the moment with regards to the takeover. Ideally, I'd like to stay. I've not had any interest from anywhere else."
