AS a long-standing Harriers supporter, season ticket holder and shareholder, I must object to the assertion by Karl Davies in last week's letters that most Harriers fans would prefer the Reynolds/Youngjohns consortium to win through.

Our elevation to the league was due to Lionel Newton. It is the current board that must take responsibility for the decline in the club's fortunes which have resulted in relegation this season.

If some Harriers fans are sceptical of the Farnborough consortium it is because they have given us little in the way of information with which to judge their intentions. Scepticism of the current board, however, has been established by bitter experience.

If either of the competing factions wants to win the hearts and minds of the fans, then may I suggest they communicate their competing strategies for the "custodianship" of the club sooner rather than later. If the current board have a positive, costed strategy, with new initiatives to increase the fan base and deliver league football back to the people of Kidderminster then let them present it.
