THE annual Asparagus Auctions are taking place at the Fleece Inn, Bretforton, this Sunday and on Sunday, June 6.
The auctions have been held at the National Trust-owned Fleece for the past 30 years, and have always proved a popular event at the 14th century inn where rebuilding has just been completed after a disastrous fire.
"The auction is a great countryside tradition and is popular with villagers and visitors alike," said landlord Nigel Smith.
"The asparagus is grown locally using the traditional ridge method of growing."
Both auctions start at 7.30pm and Bretforton Silver Band and the Pebworth Morris Men will start the celebrations at 6.30pm.
Further information is available from the Fleece Inn on 01386 831173.
